About Me
Joanna Williams: Founder of Beneath the Surface Psychology & Wellbeing
Registered Psychotherapist and Consultant
Hi, I’m Joanna...
Inspired by many in the fields of psychology, philosophy, and business, I have relished exploring how and why we think, feel, and behave in the ways that we do.
This has led my research, training, and qualifications, enabling me to create programmes and approaches that offer transformative, lasting change.
I wasn't always a Psychotherapist, this role became an addition to a twenty-year career in marketing and strategic consultancy.
Put simply, I love the intellectual stimulus of business, and am fascinated by the human mind. More so, the positive impact both can have on the evolving world... if we choose!
My journey is marked by a profound commitment to get to the very heart of issues, to understand what makes us tick, and to unhook ourselves from historic burdens, creating new possibilities to thrive.
The intersection of coaching and therapy is where I thrive. offering a unique blend of skills tailored to your individual or organisational needs.
I understand that often life and work demand more than just one approach, and I'm here to provide that flexibility.
Whilst there is some demarcation with coaching, therapy and mentoring, there is also an intersection where hybrid approaches support the varying needs of a persons growth and development.
My approach involves a helpful diagnostic process to establish which type of support you need and what you can do coordinate the best solution for you.
Navigating the crossroads of coaching and therapy
I am a fully qualified Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP), the UK Association of Transactional Analysis (UKATA) and abide by their code of ethics and professional practice, including regular CPD and clinical supervision.
I am also a qualified Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing (FCIM).
A mission to elevate life and work
My mission is simple —to contribute positively to the lives of individuals and the dynamics of organisations.
I believe that the key to this transformation lies in nurturing our own personal psychology and relationships.
My aim is to help people to become more psychologically resourced and to instil renewed belief in their ability to create more for themselves and their lives.
My commitment to you:
Empathy
Understanding your unique challenges and providing tailored support.
Trust
Building a relationship founded on trust and confidentiality.
Confidence
Giving you the confidence that together, we can overcome any obstacle.
